WE have tested this house with ferals, a tree stump house and a wood house were placed side by side and the ferals used the stump house twice as much as the wood house. We assume that it's because the stump house resembles the natural surroundings. THIS IS NOT A PLASTIC HOUSE.This Tree Stump Kitty House is not only very warm, cozy, and comfortable, it's a handcrafted work of art that takes a very long time to create.This house measures 24" in diameter by 25" high. The inside measures 15"x15"x 13" high. This house has a solid wood core with treated lumber for the base so it can sit right on the ground with no danger of rot or decay. The interior walls and floor are lined with carpet making it very cozy. The special POLYURETHANE phoam substance used on the exterior is an excellant insulator making the house extremely warm. The top of the house lifts off for easy access and cleaning and the knot- hole window is plex-glass. Each color of paint has 2 coats.the house is heated with a 50 watt infared bulb that installs into a recessed light fixture in the top of the house. The bulb is connected to an adjustable thermostat so the bulb only comes on when heat is needed Please note that the Petsafe door measures 6". |
